SMS Marketing Module in Odoo

A tutorial post on how to use SMS module for Marketing your activities within Odoo ERP software. We have covered this topic for Odoo V13 although the similar functionalities can be performed for the older version or the latest version. In Odoo (V13) SMS marketing is a channel, similarly what we have as email marketing, online marketing etc. SMS marketing involves in sending marketing or promotional  messages to client via SMS, or also usually known, text messaging.

SMS Marketing option modifies from the promotional message, product launches, new lines, sales, offers, etc. SMS marketing is the perfect modern way to communicate with your customers. SMS marketing is a procedure which is based on sending SMS to a wider audience around the world.

Let’s see the tutorial how to use SMS marketing Module in Odoo.

Installation

You can initiate by installing the module as showed in the below image – You need to search for apps > SMS where you can find the module and installed button – we have already installed the SMS marketing module in Odoo

You can initiate creating sms marketing campaign by clicking on create button

After clicking on the create button you can create a new SMS Marketing like Odoo Testing. Fill all the necessary details.

Once you added all the information you can start selecting the recipients you can easily add the filters for the records as per your needs. At that time, under the SMS Content tab, you can also add the details by clicking on the SMS Content tab.

When you want to check the prices to send one SMS to another country, click on the information icon button.

In the SMS Content tab, links can be inserted and Odoo will automatically create link trackers. At Settings you have the option include opt-out link available. At the same time, you can tick the checkbox of include opt-out link, then the contact will be ready to unsubscribe from the mailing list he is not involved in anymore.

If you want to see the records of sent links, you can go to the Configuration tab of the SMS Marketing.
Go to the SMS Marketing -> Configuration -> and click on the Line Tracker button.

After creating message, you must select the when you want it to be delivered.

Put in queue: In this , the mailing will be generated with the next automatic run.

Send now: In this, of field is used to quickly send the message. This type of option is used at the same time, there are not many recipients.

Schedule: This type of field is used to select the day and time to send SMS.

Test: This type of field is used to send SMS for test purposes.

Once you click on the Put in queue button you can view the analytics of the SMS campaign like how many people have messages received, opened, clicked, lead generated and revenue generated.

To View the Reports,

Click on the SMS Marketing app -> click on the Reporting button to analyze the report of the SMS Mailing. Similarly, you can get the use of the filters to see higher essential analysis.

To create the Contact and Black List.Fill the following required fields like you can enter the name of the mailing list and tick the checkbox of the public then click on the create button. You can start adding the numbers to create blacklist entries in the Odoo sms module.

With Odoo SMS marketing module you can send Short messages to your customer quickly compare to email marketing, further SMS opening rates are much more better than email. Setting up SMS for quick reminders get easy with SMS campaign. There may be chances where emails may go into spam. But with this module you can prepare your sms’s in advance and let Odoo ERP handle everything.
